Kent Follmer has practiced law in
Champaign County since 1988. He was born
and raised in Urbana. Kent graduated from
Urbana High School where he played
football and basketball. Kent obtained his
Bachelor’s Degree from the University of
Wisconsin at Madison and his Juris Doctor
from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1988,
where he was a member of the Moot Court
Society.
Kent practices law in all counties in Central
Illinois, including Champaign, Vermilion,
Piatt, Ford, Douglas, and McLean. Kent has
extensive civil litigation experience in many
areas, including personal injury law (all car,
motorcycle, truck and boat accidents,
premises liability cases when an injury
occurs, or as a result of a dangerous
condition), real estate law, wills, estates, trust
administration, and probate. Kent has
extensive experience in construction law
litigation, having represented contractors,
material suppliers, home owners, home
builders, and corporations for over thirty
years, including the complex Mechanic’s
Lien Act of the State of Illinois. Kent is a
member of the Illinois State Bar Association
and the Champaign County Bar Association.
Kent is the proud father of two daughters,
Rachael and Michelle, who are both college
graduates and gainfully employed locally.
Kent coached girl’s basketball for more than
ten years, and he enjoys woodworking,
gardening and traveling.
